Distress & Reliance

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ.

Lā ilāha illa-llāhu-l-‘aẓīmu-l-ḥalīm, lā ilāha illa-llāhu rabbu-l-‘arshi-l-‘aẓīm, lā ilāha illa-llāhu rabbu-s-samāwāti wa rabbu-l-arḍi wa rabbu-l-‘arshi-l-karīm.

There is no god but Allah, the Most Great, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the Noble Throne.

اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِي الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي، وَأَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي، وَأَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِي الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَادِي، وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ، وَاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ.

Allāhumma aṣliḥ lī dīnī alladhī huwa ‘iṣmatu amrī, wa aṣliḥ lī dunyāya allatī fīhā ma‘āshī, wa aṣliḥ lī ākhiratī allatī fīhā ma‘ādī, waj‘ali-l-ḥayāta ziyādatan lī fī kulli khayr, waj‘ali-l-mawta rāḥatan lī min kulli sharr.

O Allah, set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs; set right for me my worldly life, in which is my livelihood; and set right for me my Hereafter, to which is my return. Make life an increase for me in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ.

Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min zawāli ni‘matik, wa taḥawwuli ‘āfiyatik, wa fujā’ati niqmatik, wa jamī‘i sakhaṭik.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the removal of Your favor, from the decline of the well-being You have given, from the suddenness of Your retribution, and from all that draws Your displeasure.
