‘Uthmān ibn Abi al-‘Āṣ ath-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about a pain he had been feeling in his body since he embraced Islam. The Messenger of Allah said: "Place your hand on the part of your body that hurts and say 'Bismillāh' three times; then say seven times: 'I seek refuge in Allah and in His power from the evil that I find and that I fear.'"
