The best way of seeking Allah's forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)
Authentic

Allāhumma anta rabbī lā ilāha illā ant, khalaqtanī wa anā ‘abduk, wa anā ‘alā ‘ahdika wa wa‘dika mastaṭa‘t, a‘ūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣana‘t, abū’u laka bini‘matika ‘alayya, wa abū’u bidhanbī faghfir lī, fa innahu lā yaghfiru adh-dhunūba illā ant.

O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your slave. I keep Your covenant and Your promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I admit my sin — so forgive me, for none can forgive sins but You.

Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā, wa bika amsaynā, wa bika naḥyā, wa bika namūt, wa ilayka an-nushūr.

O Allah, by You we have reached the morning, and by You we have reached the evening; by You we live, and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection. (In the evening swap the order: "By You we have reached the evening, and by You we have reached the morning…", and one narration ends "…and to You is the final destination.")

Bismillāhi alladhī lā yaḍurru ma‘a-smihi shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’, wa huwa as-samī‘u-l-‘alīm.

In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing in the earth or the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (Said three times in the morning and three times in the evening.)

Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih, ‘adada khalqih, wa riḍā nafsih, wa zinata ‘arshih, wa midāda kalimātih.

Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him — by the number of His creation, by the measure of His pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words. (Said three times in the morning.)

The evening has reached, and all dominion belongs to Allah
Authentic hadith

Amsaynā wa amsa-l-mulku lillāh, wa-l-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr. Rabbi as’aluka khayra mā fī hādhihi-l-laylah wa khayra mā ba‘dahā, wa a‘ūdhu bika min sharri mā fī hādhihi-l-laylah wa sharri mā ba‘dahā. Rabbi a‘ūdhu bika mina-l-kasali wa sū’i-l-kibar. Rabbi a‘ūdhu bika min ‘adhābin fi-n-nāri wa ‘adhābin fi-l-qabr.

The evening has reached, and all dominion belongs to Allah; all praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah, alone with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is Omnipotent over all things. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what follows it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from torment in the Fire and torment in the grave. (In the morning say "Aṣbaḥnā…" and "this day" in place of "this night".)
